Autumn crop whole star anise from Guangxi

This product is the autumn-harvested whole fruit of Chinese star anise (Illicium verum). In the Chinese quality classification, autumn-mature fruit processed and dried for the spice trade is commonly called Dahong star anise. For international procurement, we use the consistent product name Autumn Star Anise, rather than “red star anise”.

Appearance, grade and lot confirmation

Autumn crop fruit is generally selected where buyers value a fuller whole-star appearance and consistent presentation. A purchase specification should still state the required whole-fruit percentage, broken tolerance, colour and sensory target, moisture limit, foreign-matter limit and any microbiological, pesticide-residue or contaminant tests. Natural raw materials vary by origin, harvest and lot, so volatile oil and other analytical values are confirmed by the current specification or COA rather than assumed from the crop name.

Applications and commercial formats

Autumn Star Anise is suitable for spice distribution, foodservice, broth and culinary packs, seasoning manufacture and retail repacking.
